MARGAO: Parish Youth Nuvem prevailed over Guardian Angel Sports Club in a dramatic 6-5 penalty shootout in a thrilling semi-final of the inaugural Fernando Abranches Memorial Trophy, organized by the United Club of Verna, at the Verna Panchayat Ground.
Nuvem took the lead in the first half with a well-executed goal by Nicolas. However, Guardian Angel came back strong in the second half, dominating possession and levelling the score with a brilliant equaliser from Cyril Dias.
The match was decided in the penalty shootout, where Nicolau, Hudson, Drawin, Shenoy, Shubert, and Inacio converted for Nuvem. On the other side, Glenson, Ivo, Godwin, Ryan, and Gerito scored for Guardian Angel.
Cyril Dias was named the Star of the Match for his exceptional performance, with the award presented by former MPT player Agnelo Fonseca.
