Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Navelim won the Inter-Collegiate Cycling Men’s Championship 2022-23 held on Saturday, organised by Goa University in collaboration with Rosary College of Commerce and Arts, Navelim at Navelim. Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Quepem finished as the runners-up while the third place was won by St Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim.
Rohit Chodankar (35:45.00) of Rosary College, Navelim; Akash Yadav (36:08.00) of Rosary College, Navelim; and Parshuram Ghadi of (35:28.00) of Govt College, Quepem secured first, second and third places respectively in the individual category.
The chief guest for the championship, Dr Avertano Barreto, former director of physical education and sports at Don Bosco College of Engineering, and guest of honour, Prof Helic Barreto, principal of Rosary College, Rev Dr Jeromino D'silva, vice-principal, Rosary College, Balachandra Jadar, assistant director of physical education and sports, Goa University, Dr Francis Lobo, college director of physical education and sports, Rosary College, and Dr Rajan Mathew, college director of physical education and sports, Govt College, Quepem graced the occasion and presented medals and trophies to the winners.
