Rossman Cruz Nagoa prevailed over SC Davorlim 8-7 via tiebreaker and moved into the quarterfinals of the 39th Sao Jose de Areal Panchayat Cup organised by Sao Jose de Areal Club at Padribhat ground on Thursday.
Josly Moniz netted the first goal for Rossman in the 4th minute. Six minutes later, Cleton Rebello equalised for Davorlim. Davorlim netted two more goals through Adam Gomes and Mack Borges in the 18th and 49th minutes respectively.
In the second half, Rossman Cruz equalised as Andrew John scored in the 52nd and 67th minutes. In the tiebreaker, Rossman Cruz proved to be the better shooters. Reeve D'Costa of SC Davorlim was presented the Man of the match award at the hands of John Silva, football promoter and ex-referee.
DBO Fatorda prevail over Arlem Youth Assn
Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda beat Arlem Youth Association Raia 6-4 via tiebreaker and moved into the quarterfinals of Our Lady of Fatima Cup 2022 organised by Dicarpale SC at Dicarpale ground on Thursday.
Stephen Alvares of Arlem Youth Association and Clencio Pinto of Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda gave their best for their teams. Maxwell Furtado of Fatorda netted the first goal of the match in the 15th minute with a diving header off Hanslum Furtado's connection, but the joy was shot-lived as Stephen Alvares equalised for Arlem with a placement shot in the 23rd minute.
In the tiebreaker, Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda netted through Clencio Pinto, Hanslum Furtado, Veleston D'Souza, Velson D'Souza and Maxwell Furtado. For Raia, Stephen Alvares, Daniel Gomes and Movin Gaonkar scored.
Curtorim Gymkhana reach semifinals
Curtorim Gymkhana defeated Cuncolim Union 2-1 and moved into the semifinals of the 43rd St Joseph Festival football tournament organised by Dramapur Sports Club at Dramapur ground on Thursday.
Curtorim took the lead in the 6th minute off a direct freekick taken by Jovel Martins. Curtorim inflated the lead through Nezly Hilario in the 30th minute. Cuncolim reduced the margin in the 34th minute through Jeston Fernandes.
Morjim Veterans move into quarterfinals
Morjim Veterans downed Apollo Veterans 2-0 to enter the quarterfinals of the Varca Veterans Cup football tournament organised by Varca Veterans at Varca football ground on Thursday.
Morjim Veterans netted a goal each through Sanjay and Nicholas. The Man of match award was presented to Minguel Baretto of Apollo Veterans.
