The Sports Authority of Goa will conduct a special ‘Sports and Fitness Week’ from August 27 to September 3 with an aim to “unite the State in a celebration of the power of sport to bring people together in these challenging times”.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 'Fit India Movement' in 2019 to take the nation on the path of fitness and wellness. With Modern-day lifestyles, there is a need to be more physically proactive in order to face challenges with optimum energy and positivity,” SAG said in a press release.
“The SAG Sports and Fitness Week 2021 campaign also helps to create awareness of sports, health and fitness amongst the staff, youth and general public. Various tournaments for the SAG staff will be conducted during the week and competitions like sports photography, football juggling, live sports quiz will be organized for the general public. Educative online sessions on nutrition and child growth, self-defence for girls, Zumba fitness, Yoga and meditation will also be conducted on the Zoom meeting application.
