In a highly anticipated GFA First Division League match in the Salcete Zone, Cortalim Villagers and SCC Cavelossim Navelim faced off against each other. Cortalim Villagers started the match strongly, with Preston Fernandes scoring a goal in the 45+3 minute, giving his team a 1-0 lead at halftime. SCC Cavelossim Navelim dominated the second half, and finally, in the 78th minute, Maven Gracras scored an equaliser for his team, making the score 1-1. Despite both teams' efforts to score a winning goal, the match ended in a draw.
DBO Fatorda dump Raia Sporting 2-1
MARGAO: Don Bosco Oratory (DBO) Fatorda moved into the quarters after defeating Raia Sporting 2-1 in the Curtorim Villagers Cup 2023 match at Curtorim ground on Tuesday. In an exciting match, both the teams played attacking football. Both created chances but could not score in the first half. In the second half, Fatorda scored through Hanslum Furtado in the 37th minute to make it 1-0. Raia equalised through Chalton Coelho in the 42 minute after receiving a pass from Dylon Quadros to make it 1-1. Fatorda scored the match-winner in the dying minutes through Clive Miranda to make it 2-1.
Tennis ball cricket: V Dempo HSS emerge champs
PANAJI: V Dempo HSS of Arts Science and Commerce, Cujira clinched the Zone II HSS Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament defeating Saraswati HSS Kavlem by 8 wickets. Earlier, Saraswati HSS scored 63 runs losing 7 wickets. In response, Dempo HSS scored the required target without losing any wicket. Raunak Pednekar scored 35 runs while Yash Narve scored 29 runs for Dempo HSS to clinch the Zone II title.
