MARGAO: SCC Loutolim clinched a narrow 2-1 victory over Santa Cruz Society of Poitomaddo Cuncolim to advance to the quarterfinals of the 23rd Bro. Eulalio Vas Memorial Football Tournament, organized by Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda, at the Fatorda ground on Friday.
Austin Fernandes opened the scoring for SCC Loutolim with a powerful shot from the box in the 8th minute, quickly followed by a goal from Aniston D'Silva in the 9th minute that doubled their lead. Jollyton Fernandes managed to pull one back for Santa Cruz Society in the 12th minute.
Flagger Moraes of SCC Loutolim was named Man of the Match by Mahesh Kamble, a player from Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda.
