Sesa Football Academy edged past Churchill Brothers FC 2-1 in the GFA's Professional League, at SAG Trinity ground, Benaulim, on Monday.

In a highly charged League match, Churchill Brothers faced off against Sesa Football Academy with both teams displaying their attacking prowess from the onset.
The action unfolded in the eighth minute when Sesa took the lead. Sankalap Kankonkar orchestrated a perfectly-timed through ball for Chaitan Dabholkar who calmly went one-on-one with Churchill keeper. Subhajit Bhattacharjee found the back of the net in the ninth minute.
Sesa Football Academy continued their attacking onslaught with Chaitan Dabolkar and Velrose Dias trouble the rival defence with sharp raids.
Despite promising attacks from Churchill Brothers, the first half concluded with a Sesa Football Academy leading at half time.
Churchill Brothers stepped up their attack in the second half in search of an equaliser.
Churchill Brothers FC responded with a well-coordinated team goal, initiated from the right and culminating on the left. The penultimate pass of the move comes to their forwards inside the box,and referee awarded the spot kick when Lunmini Haokip converted the spot kick to make it 1-1 in the 58th minute. Stung by the equalizer, Sesa Football Academy regrouped quickly and in the 63rd minute Joshua D'Silva slotted past the rival goalkeeper to regain the lead .
Meanwhile, at Ella Ground, Reezvon Fernandes netted the lone goal, securing a crucial victory for FC Goa against Calangute Association. Reezvon's outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award, presented by FC Goa senior team coach Manolo Márquez.
In the GFA U-13 Division II, Navelim Villagers Union claimed a resounding 7-1 victory over Sarzora, while Raia FC dominated Colmorod Ratwado SC with a 9-0 triumph. In the GFA Second Division League, Fr. Agnelo YSC Paroda secured a 4-1 win over Carmel SC, and Pilerne SC defeated Vagator Parish Youth SC.
