SSV Govt High School, Kumbharjua defeated RPRS, Bandora by 7 wickets in the boys third quarter-final of the 4th Goa State U-14 mini tennis ball cricket championship at Kumbharjua.
Batting first, RPRS scored 46 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 6 overs. Raj (9), Pratik (11)contributed with the bat while Rahul and Sankalp picked up a wicket each. Anish managed to get 2 wickets.
Chasing a modest target, SSV Govt High School chased down the target in just 5.1 overs with Aryan (13*) and Rahul (19*) contributing crucial runs. Swarit and Raj picked up a wicket each.
In fourth quarter-final, Sharada English High School, Marcel defeated St Theresa High School, St Estvem by 20 runs. Swarit (41*) and Avnish (17) starred with the bat for Sharada, posting a total of 71 runs. St Theresa could only manage 51 runs in their reply despite a valiant the efforts put in by Avnish(18*) and Swarit (10).
In the girls category, Sharada English High School, Marcel defeated Govt High School, Amona by 4 wickets. Aarti (7) and Avishka (6) were the top scorers for Amona who were restricted to 31 for 4 in their innings after Gulbas scalped three wickets for just 2 runs. Sharada chased down the target comfortably with Simran (20*) leading the way.
In the other quarter-final, SKK Keri, Ponda dominated Our Lady of Rosary High School, Dona Paula, winning by 8 wickets. Batting first, Our Lady of Rosary managed 34 runs for the loss of four wickets with Nora(11) and Nisha's (7) batting performances. In reply, SKK chased down the target in just 3.2 overs with Tanaya (19*) and Tanishka (10*) remaining unbeaten.
