Goa Chess Association will organise an All Goa State Selection for National Senior (Open)Fide Rating Chess Championship from July 24 to 28 under the auspices of All India Chess Federation.
The top 4 will be selected to represent Goa at the Nationals at Haryana from August 17 to 27. The venue is Govt. College of Commerce & Economics at St. Joaquim Road, Borda, Margao. The prize money for the top 20 players is Rs 50,000 and trophies will be given to winners and age group category players 2 boys and 2 girls in each category. Special prizes of best unrated, best veteran and best women player above 15 will also be given.
The tournament is a registered Fide Rating tournament which enables new players to get a Fide rating. There will be 1 round on July 24 and 2 rounds each on July 25, 26, 27 and 28 totalling 9 rounds. The time control is 90 minutes +30 seconds increment from Round 1.
Any Goan resident player can participate and needs to contact Arvind Mhamal or Dilip Vernekar or Damodar Zambaulikar or whatsapp to 9422444552. Entry fee of Rs 500 needs to be paid and google form may be filled. Last date of entry is July 23, 6 pm.The reporting time on July 24 is 1:30 pm.
