Uguem Rising Club emerged champions of Cavelossim Panchayat cup 2025 after getting the better of Navelim Villagers Union 5-3 via the tie-breaker, at Fr Druston & Wellington ground, Cavelossim, on Saturday.
Both teams played attacking football butcouldn't broke the deadlock till the final whistle which ended goalless.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Uguem Rising Club found the net through Macson D'Costa, Handlee Carvalho, Rutik Bandodkar, Austin Coutinho and Israel Gomes while Nash Pereira, Ronaldo Pereira were on target for Navelim Villagers Union.
Minister of Panchayat Transport & Industries Mauvin Godinho was the chief guest and gave away prizes in presence of PI Sherif Jaques, Dixon Vaz (Sarpanch V P Cavelossim & Chairman of the Club), Fr Ubaldo Fernandes & Fr Saude Pereira of Holy Cross Parish, Rinku Lobo (Dy. Sarpanch) John Colaco (V P Secretary), John Barreto, Jesus Da Costa, Iris Passanha, Delfina Vaz & Swizel Barreto,Panchas Bonaventure Vaz, (VDC Chairman Roy Barreto (Bio Diversity Chairman), Prince Pereira (Disaster Management Committee Chairman), Viriato Mendes (Chairman Road Safety Committe), Lea Rebello (Chairperson Child Welfare Committee) and other officials.
