Dempo Sports Club head coach Samir Naik wants his side to win every match in the I-League 2 regardless of the opposition as they begin their campaign against The Maharashtra Oranje FC at COE Khargar Ground on Saturday.
Speaking ahead of the in the opening match match the Golden Eagles coach said, “We are looking forward to present a distinguished line-up and achieve a positive result against the Mumbai team."
“We are ready for this match and our goal is to win every match, regardless of which team we are facing. Everyoneexpected that the Maharastra FC match would be easy, but it was not easy. The second division league does not have such classifications and all matches are difficult," he added.
"We got some videos to analyse," the former defender answered qhen asked about the opponent's style of play.
"It’s a difficult team. We know coach Younes very well, he is doing a good job. They have nine points. They started the season very well, and they have a good team. This is the truth. They have great foreigner players. They are good in attack, and in defence. Their balance is good. We are talking about a really excellent team so I expect a very difficult game,” he added.
"I am confident that we all, including the new players, will quickly adapt to the football philosophy of the coach and the new technical staff. It is natural that we need some time to adapt. But I think it is easy to work with this coach as we understand his philosophy,” said Naik who is hopeful of his team's aspirations to do better.
"The first match is always difficult and we were satisfied with the performance in a large way, but the result will be the most important thing at this stage. Especially since the players made a great effort and I hope that we will take advantage of the spirit and desire from the previous match, especially since Maharshtra Oranje FC are a strong and experienced team in the league," Naik concluded.
