Beer lovers in Goa couldn’t have asked for more as Kaama Impex Pvt Ltd launched a craft beer called ‘Witlinger’ in the state. This premium, imported beer is launched in two variants - Witlinger Wheat Ale and Witlinger Lager and will be sold at Rs 100 per 330 ml bottle. Kaama Impex is importing Witlinger beer from the UK, where it is getting it manufactured under a contract. The UK is the biggest manufacturer of craft beer in the world.
Anuj Kushwah, founder, Kaama Impex, said, “Witlinger is brewed in the UK. It’s a mix of wheat and malt and we also use ingredients like orange peel and coriander. Witinger is a premium beer and we are aiming at capturing 80% of Goa’s premium beer market.”
Kushwah also informed that his company launched Witlinger beer in bottle format in Delhi in April 2016. Kaama Impex already imports brands like Sol from Mexico.
He further said: “We have kept Witlinger light in terms of taste. It’s not bitter and that’s because we use orange peel from Spain as an ingredient. It is a kind of beer, which can be drank at any point of the day. The young consumer of today is increasingly demanding better quality premium beers and that’s where Witlinger fits in perfectly.”
