Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Ashok Gajapathi was the chief guest at the event. Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, was also present.

In accordance with the theme of the event, SITA announced that it has finished deploying its next-generation airport management solution across ten airports in India. With the help of this solution, Airports Authority of India (AAI) gets an overview of all ten airports, which helps it in optimization of resources and equipment and better control over operations. The central control of this system is at Chennai International Airport with back-up site at Kolkata.

SITA has a vast presence in civil aviation in India. Maneesh Jaikrishna, SITA vice president India and Subcontinent, said, “We have a very wide presence in India. 41 major airports in the country use our technology for check-in and baggage reconciliation. 11 plus airports are using our systems for airport management”

This system helps Jet Airways in adjusting its fares in response to market trends. Airfares change every second and hence SITA’s solution is in great demand.
