The seven-goal thriller between FC Goa and Bengaluru FC in the ongoing fourth edition of the Indian Super League (ISL) was probably among the best football matches played at the Fatorda Stadium.
It had all the ingredients of a super football match and was edge-of-the-seat stuff. FC Goa played well to end up on the winning side but not before giving the Goan supporters some anxious moments.
The FC Goa upfront were a revelation to watch with the Spaniard Corro scoring a hat-trick with individual brilliance. But what seemed circumspect was FC Goa's defense. From a comfortable position FC Goa allowed the rival team to come back and neutralize the lead.
This happened against Cheenayini FC earlier which FC Goa won 3-2 and against the ten-men Bengaluru FC which also the Goan team won 4-3.
Defending a lead is as important as scoring the goals and FC Goa has conceded goals after taking a lead on a couple of occasions and this aspect needs to be looked into. Nevertheless nothing can be taken away from the team for a splendid victory. These are early days in ISL-4 and FC Goa needs to keep up the winning ways.
