At some locations in Ponda, we come across concrete slabs over drains lying in misplaced conditions. These are dangerous and not only cause inconvenience to innocent pedestrians, but also turns unhygienic due to the stench emerging from the drains.
As on Sunday, March 4 at 6:30 pm, a slab over the drain adjacent to the municipal garden in Ponda) was found fallen in. Pedestrians regularly proceed along this location and the existing situation could prove risky to the common man who are likely to fall inside due to the existing gap in-between the slabs.
In case an aged person happens to become a victim, he would definitely be confronted with untold hardships. In order to assure safety, it is absolutely necessary that this misplaced slab is re-fixed in its original position so that any inconvenience faced by the public at large ends on a permanent basis.
I request the higher officials at the Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) to take a note of this serious matter and initiate prompt favourable action at the earliest.
