Residents of Merces seek urgent repair of road at Mesta Bhat, Merces, due to the deplorable condition of the road stretch from Dr Cardozo Clinic to the Merces Church Cemetery, which has remained unmotorable for several months. The road was dug up to facilitate the laying of a water pipeline leading to the Military Training Centre at Merces. However, despite the completion of the pipeline-related work, the damaged portion of the road has not been properly restored or tarred. The uneven and damaged surface makes commuting difficult and poses a risk of accidents, particularly for two-wheelers. Residents have expressed concern that although the road was dug up for public infrastructure work, there appears to have been no timely follow-up to restore it to its original condition. The authorities concerned are therefore urged to take immediate cognisance of the situation and undertake the necessary repairs and proper resurfacing of the road at the earliest. Timely action will not only restore safe and convenient access but also help mitigate the hardships being faced by the people of Merces, particularly the residents of Mesta Bhat.
