Goans host ‘Journey to Faith’ event in London

LONDON

Synchrony, a London-based faith-led music group, in collaboration with St Anselm’s Rising Youth Ministry (SARYM), hosted an evening of music, reflection, and spiritual engagement titled ‘Journey to Faith’ in London on April 10.

In its mission to curate meaningful musical experiences that integrate choral expression with messages of hope and unity, Synchrony brought together a diverse group of performers and participants.

The programme featured a series of choir performances, each offering a distinct expression of praise and worship, contributing to an atmosphere of reflection and inspiration.

The evening was further enriched by guided reflections from key community members. Youth coordinator Mark Silva encouraged attendees to reflect on their personal faith journeys, while Fr Peter O’Sullivan, Assistant Parish Priest, offered spiritual insights grounded in compassion and pastoral guidance. Additional reflections by Steffi Mendes, Raiza Rodrigues and Omeg Antao provided further depth to the evening’s central theme.

A special guest performance by Daneera D’Souza enhanced the overall experience for attendees.

The event was well attended, reflecting strong community interest in initiatives that foster connection through faith and music. Attendees actively participated in interactive workshop sessions designed to encourage reflection, dialogue, and communal worship.

Synchrony, which composes and performs original music in English and Konkani, continues to advance its mission of inspiring and uniting audiences through authentic, faith-driven artistry. Events such as ‘Journey to Faith’ underscore the group’s commitment to creating impactful and spiritually enriching experiences.

The organisers extended their appreciation to Fr Felix D’Silva, Parish Priest, for his guidance and steadfast support. They also expressed gratitude to their sponsor, Tilda (Ravi Vaz), Trilight Visuals (Peyton Pires, Darren Ferrao and Conroy Colaco) for production support, as well as to the youth leaders, youth coordinator, and youth members for their dedication and efforts.

The organisers also thanked the volunteers for their generous provision of food, and conveyed appreciation to local café Susegad, Valankani and Mary Jesus for their valued support.

The event concluded with attendees departing with a renewed sense of purpose, community, and spiritual connection, reflecting the core message of hope, unity, and faith.

ABOUT SYNCHRONY

When contacted, Omeg Antao said Synchrony is a London-based collective dedicated to creating meaningful, faith-inspired musical experiences that connect and uplift people.

“What began as a group of young adults involved in the youth ministry at St Anselm’s has grown into a large mission. During our time in the ministry, we discovered a deep sense of closeness to God through singing, which became the foundation of our shared purpose and passion,” said Omeg.

As their bond strengthened, the group evolved into a church choir, using music as a way to express faith and build community.

“Over time, this journey led us to establish our own identity as Synchrony, a group committed to inspiring others through music rooted in hope, love, and spirituality.”

“Synchrony offers soulful choir performances for weddings and special occasions, as well as workshops and events such as ‘Journey to Faith’. We also write and compose original songs in both English and Konkani, blending praise and worship with cultural expression.”

“At the heart of everything we do is a simple mission: to inspire, uplift, and bring people together through music that feels authentic, resonates deeply, and leaves a lasting impact,” Omeg added.
