MARGAO: Chandrawaddo Boys Fatorda prevailed over Papa Boys, Sao Jose de Areal 7-6 via the tie-breaker to enter the semi-finals of 4th all Goa inter-village open football tournament, organised by Davorlim Sports and Cultural Club, at Davorlim club ground, Laymati, on Monday.
Papa Boys opened the account in the 10th minute through Velington Faleiro with a neat placement while Chandrawaddo found the equaliser the very next minute through Ace striker Francis Andrade whose powerful left footer deflected Areal defence and beat goalkeeper Joseph Montero. In the second session, Areal took the lead in the 40th minute with Raymon Fernandes left footer crashed into the net beating Chandrawaddo goalkeeper Carol Soares. The much needed equaliser came from the header of Hanshlum Furtado in the dying minutes of the game. Areal had the upper hand in the match but their strikers failed to captilise on the opportunity and the game ended in a 2-2 draw. In resultant tie-breaker, Chandrawaddo Boys Fatorda prove to be better shooters.
