Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly, Ramesh Tawadkar, inaugurated the International Women’s Day programme at Shristhal Village Panchayat on Friday. Speaking on the occasion Tawadkar lauded the women’s contribution in nation building and said much more could be expected from the Prime Minister for the betterment and improvement of living standards of the families by introducing schemes and reservations for the women. Also present were Project Director Deepali Naik, Taluka Legal Service Advocate Pratibha Desai, Sarpanch of Loliem-Polem Nisha Chari, District Manager Harish Amonkar, Sumita Kadam, Canacona BDO Savio Carvalho, and BJP Mahila Morcha President Canacona Vinda Satarkar. Ramesh Tawadkar inaugurated the International Women’s Day celebration programme organized by Village Panchayat Poinguinim and Sashwat Sports & Cultural Club at Poinguinim on Saturday. Tawadkar said he is honoured to mark this special occasion in the presence of Sarpanch Savita Tawadkar and other Panchayat members.
