Prof. Manoj R. Borkar of Carmel College, Nuvem was felicitated by Dr. Dhriti Banerjee Director, Zoological Survey of India on the ocassion of 111th Foundation Day of the national scientific organisation under MoEFCC, Govt. of India. In the recently concluded international Animal Taxonomy Summit-2026 organised by the ZSI in Kolkata, India's topnotch Zoologists were invited to present research in their domains of expertise. Prof. Borkar delivered a session on "Phenological Shifts and faunal responses" and was a part of the panel discussion on 'Next Gen Ecology: Effects of Climate Change on animals'; along with Scientists from reputed institutions like IISER Mohali, NISER Odisha, NIAS Bangalore and Mysore University. Borkar's work on various animal taxa in Goa is well recognised. Prof. Borkar also serves as an expert on Goa State Biodiversity Board, and a guest faculty for QCI-NABET's capacity building workshops across India.
