PANAJI: Bishop of Sindhudurg Agnelo Pinheiro will preside over the Solemn High Mass at the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Old Goa, on December 3 at 10.30 am to mark the Feast of St Francis Xavier. Archbishop of Goa and Daman Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrão, Auxiliary Bishop Simião Fernandes and other priests will concelebrate the Mass. Basilica Rector Fr Jovito D’Souza SJ said the theme for this year’s Novena and Feast is ‘Following the example of St Francis Xavier, let us deepen our faith, shape it, celebrate it and abide in Jesus.’ The Maddi will be held on November 23 after the 6 pm Mass. The Novena will run from November 24 to December 2, with Masses at various times. Special Masses in different languages, an inter-religious meet and confession services have also been scheduled.
