All-Goa Diwali contests at Mavalingad Sakhali

The Mavalingad Sports and Cultural Club at Mavalingad Sakhali has announced various Diwali contests at State and village-level on October 23. The contests will be held at the Tonayeshwar Devasthan at Sakhali.

The all-Goa rangoli contest will be held between 9 am to 3 pm, and the prizes will be Rs 4,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000. All-Goa akash kandil contest will be held at 7 pm and the winners will get prizes worth Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000, respectively. All-Goa dance contest will be held at 8 pm in two categories “ group one of under 12 children and group two of those above 12 years old. There will be three cash prizes for both the categories with a trophy and a gift each, for all the winners.

The all-Goa fancy dress contest for children will be held between 7-8 pm in two categories - below 8 years and above 8 years. Mavalingad village level cooking contest will be on Diwali Faral and held at 5 pm. The first three winners will get prizes “ Rs  1000, Rs 700 and Rs 500 each.

Mavalingad village level Mehendi contest will be between 2-4 pm and the first three winners will be rewarded cash prizes. To participate in Mehendi contest interested persons can contact on 8421876290.

The All Goa mini Narkasur contest will be held at 10 pm. The height of the Narkasur efficacy should not exceed 12ft. The winners will get first prize of Rs 5,000, second prize of Rs 4,000 and third prize of Rs 3,000.

The Dhavali Sarvajanik Shree Ganeshotsava Mandal has organised two-day Diwali Bazaar consecutively for the fourth year.
