An awareness programme regarding three linear projects of double-tracking of Railways, power line transmission in Western Ghats and expansion of national highways was held at Chicalim ground on Saturday evening.
Speaking to media a speaker said that the meeting was held to make aware about the ill-effects of the projects.
“The project proponent should have informed the people about risk analysis, and this is being covered up because the proponent wants to dump these projects on Goans,” said the speaker.
Capt Viriato Fernandes said that it was the 50th village where such awareness camps were held.
“We are showing people facts with documentary evidence while appealing to people to join the fight against destructive projects,” said Fernandes.
