Morjim sarpanch wins NRDF award, to be feted on March 28

Vaishali Shetgaonkar, the sarpanch from Morjim has won the National Rural Development Foundation award given by the Health and Development Foundation, Belagavi (Karnataka). The prestigious award is given to those who contribute sizeably towards the social and educational fields in the states of Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa. The award ceremony will be held on March 28 at Adarsh College, Vadgao, Belagavi in the presence of army officers, film actors, educationists, political leaders and Mathadheesh.

Covid positivity rate high with 85 new cases but no deaths recorded

PANAJI The daily Covid positivity rate in Goa continued to remain high with 85 new cases or 5.8 per cent of the 1,441 samples testing positive for Covid-19 on Monday. The total confirmed cases in the state have now risen to 56,708 of whom 54,873 have recovered while 1,017 are presently active. No Covid related deaths were recorded in the state on Monday and the total Covid victim count remains steady at 818.
