PORVORIM: The Sanjay Centre for Special Education felicitated students of SSC and HSSC who secured 100 per cent results in the Goa Board examinations for 2024-25. The programme was graced by Shri Vilas Satarkar, National Teacher Award winner and Headmaster of Dr K B Hedgewar High School, and Prof. Alvyn Abranches, Assistant Professor at Don Bosco College, Panaji, who is also an alumnus of Sanjay School.
In his address, Satarkar congratulated the students and urged them to learn at least one skill, highlighting that the National Education Policy 2020 places strong emphasis on skill development. Prof. Abranches shared his journey from being a student of Sanjay School to becoming a professor, recalling the challenges he faced in securing admission to higher secondary due to disability, and how he overcame them.
Sanjay Centre Chairman Sidharth Kuncalienker delivered the welcome address. Others present included Neetal Amonkar, Member Secretary of the Centre, Paulo Rodrigues, Administrative-cum-Accounts Officer, and Tatu Kudalkar, Headmaster of Sanjay School. Special Educator Seema Bagkar compered the programme, while Cheryl Nogar proposed the vote of thanks.
