The Village Panchayat Child committee, Siolim-Marna along with the Village Panchayat of Siolim-Marna hoisted the tricolour flag at the panchayat ghar followed by the felicitation of SSCE and HSSCE toppers in the jurisdiction of the panchayat. Sarpanch Sharmila Vernekar welcomed the gathering and spoke about the freedom struggle and also asked the students to continue their studies and bring a name to the village. Jane Desouza spoke on her vision for every young girl what freedom is. Gayatri Parsekar performed the Bharatnatyam dance on the famous Vande Matram song. The following students were felicitated with a memento and cash prize of Rs 1000: SFX Higher Sec. Siolim toppers Tabusum Munirasab Mulla, science stream, Danett Gomes, Commerce stream , Jane Desouza Art stream and for SSCE Gayatri Vishwas f Parsekar, SFX High School Siolim, Ketaki Tulsidas Agarwadekar, Keerti Vidyalaya School, Siolim, Anisha Anant Tendle, Vasant Vidyalaya School, Siolim. The parents of the students were gifted with a potted flower plants at the hands of the panchayat members. The programme was compered by the chairperson Gregory Dsouza and Deputy Sarpanch William Fernandes proposed a vote of thanks.
