PANAJIWater Resources Department has informed that due to temporary closure of both Tillari Project canals in Maharashtra for the purpose of their annual maintenance in November and December there will not be supply of water to Pernem, Bardez and Bicholim talukas for agricultural and other purposes till the water is released by Maharashtra authorities. However, alternate arrangements for drinking water supply in all these talukas have been made by pumping water from Kalna river for Chandel water treatment plant (Pernem Taluka) and from Chapora river at Sal for Assonora treatment plant (Bardez and Bicholim Taluka).
