On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, on November 25, Goa Women’s Forum will observe a Women’s Rights Awareness Fortnight to highlight the rights & responsibilities of women in tackling the injustice faced by them. The awareness drive which will end on December 10, Human Rights Day will cover the rights of women with regards to domestic violence and sexual harassment among other issues. During the fortnight, GWF will disseminate information with regards to the redressal avenues available at the police stations, block development offices, municipal councils, district collectorate among others as well as the various helplines available. GWF will also reach out to Mahila Mandals, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), faith based groups and Consumer Welfare Clubs (CWCs) to share information on the rights & responsibilities of women.
FOGA conferred with Ati Vishisht Seva Medal
VASCORear Admiral Philipose G Pynumootil, Flag Officer Commanding Goa Area (FOGA) was awarded the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) by President Ram Nath Kovind, during Defence Investiture Ceremony (Phase-1) at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Monday. Rear Admiral Philipose was conferred with AVSM for distinguished service of exceptional order. The Admiral was earlier awarded the Nao Sena Medal, for his tenure in command of INS Brahmaputra.
