An Atma Nirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa event was held forthe fishing community at Bogmalo.
Nodal officer Sheru Shirodkar conducted the programme whichwas connected to the fisheries department and all welfare-related schemes wereexplained to the people of Bogmalo.
Speaking to reporters, Sheru Shirodkar said theirresponsibilities as nodal officers (mitra) was to ensure that all schemes reachout to the needy.
“We had a programme to create awareness on schemes for thefishing community since this is a coastal village. We will work to make thisvillage Open Defecation Free and then register special children so thatfacilities reach out to the right people.”
“We can work out many issues like eco-tourism, income-generatingprogramme or revival of traditional professions," said Shirodkar.
Bogmalo Deputy Sarpanch Sankalp Mahale said people must nowtake advantage of schemes explained under this initiative.
“The nodal officer will visit the Panchayat every Saturdayto resolve issues if any,” said Mahale.
