Headmistress of GHS Morpirla Morena Miranda, teachers Cassy Carneiro, Meghan Bhiker and Sumant Bandekar were conferred with the Nation Builders award by Rotary Club of Margao Sunrise for their efforts towards the upliftment of tribal students in Morpirla and securing 100 per cent SSC results for five years.
Cassy Carneiro teaches English and Social Science, and under her guidance students have won essay competitions at the National Level. Meghan Bhiker teaches Hindi and Marathi and has always secured 100 per cent results in her subjects with students scoring above 90. Art teacher Sumant Bandekar has trained students, and they have won poster competitions at the National level, besides taluka and district level.
