Bebook closed; distributes collection to libraries

Bebook closed; distributes collection to libraries

PANAJI

Bebook, a mobile book library for children that went to the remotest villages of Goa to ensure that every child discovers the joy of reading will no more travel with their bundle of books and spread smiles on the faces of kids, as the team has decided to shut their operations. This decision came because of the various restrictions which have limited Bebook’s programmes for about two years now.

“Team Bebook had to take a difficult decision early this year. We have decided to distribute the wonderful book collection we have and help set up libraries at individual project locations. Some of them are existing projects and some are new, the criterion being that we have confidence that the books will be circulated amongst the children,” stated Diviya Kapur, managing trustee, Bebook.

“We have come to this tough decision because of the uncertainty of the circumstances in the last few years and we feel that this model will help our objective of taking books to children who don't have access, albeit in a different form,” said Kapur.
