BELAGAVI
Motorists and commuters travelling between Goa, Sindhudurg and Belagavi were left stranded for several hours on Wednesday, after a large tree uprooted at Amboli Ghat.
According to sources, the tree got uprooted about 1 km from the Kumbheshwar temple due to heavy rains which have lashed the region since last couple of days.
Motorists and commuters from both sides were stranded due to the incident.
Traffic police and Amboli police later cleared the road by Wednesday afternoon and restored traffic along the route.
Landslides and uprooting of trees in the Amboli Ghat section have posed a threat to the commuters along the route.
