In a major initiative towards curbing the third wave of Covid, KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital & Medical Research Centre push-started the Covid vaccination drive for children between 15 and 18 years. The vaccine drive was inaugurated at the KLES Hospital campus in presence of Dr Prabhakar Kore, former MP and chairperson of KLE Society.
Belagavi MP Mangal Suresh Angadi, initiated the vaccine drive and praised the KLES Dr Prabhakar Hospital's positive move.
She also urged people to take needful precaution against Covid to keep the nation free from the pandemic commotion.
KLES MD & CEO Dr M V Jali announced that following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s declaration on December 25, the Covaxin vaccine will be also administered by the hospital as the "precautionary third dose" to healthcare workers, frontline workers, and citizens above 60 years with severe health conditions from January 10. KLES Medical Director and CEO Dr MV Jali, Dr N S Mahanthashetti, Dr Sudha Raddi, Dr Tanmaya Metgud, Dr Rajashekhar Somanatti, Dr Arif Maldar and Chief PRO Shankar Parsannavar were present as nearly 80 children in the age group of 15-18 years were vaccinated.
