‘Tales in the Pandemic’, an illustrated story book by Rehana Rohan Kamat Timble, a class VII student, has just been released by Vijayadevi Rane, former chairperson of Bal Bhavan, in the presence of Dr Pramod Salgaocar, former chairperson, Goa State Commission for Women, and Sapna Sardessai, publisher and founder, Printer’s Devil.
A student of class seven at Rosary High School, Bambolim, Rehana Timble has constructively used her spare time in the pandemic by creating an imaginary world around the Winley family and in the process has herself come to terms with Covid appropriate behaviour. Every chapter in her short tales has a moral that needs to be imbibed by children of her age and even adults who do not take the pandemic seriously. The detail in her imagination is remarkable for a twelve-year-old and very inspiring. Vijayadevi Rane spoke on the occasion and lauded the efforts of the author in bringing out a book with such clear vision at such a tender age. The book has been illustrated by Shannon D’Costa.
