Benaulim MLA Churchill Alemao released PC Trust sports magazine in honour of Fr Jose Antonio Da Costa. Fr Da Costa was a soccer player, member of the Goa Football Association and ardent promoter of soccer. Fr Da Costa was also presented with details of award and list of donors. Alemao was presented with a special folder with details of soccer award instituted by him under Trust for Chinchinim Schools. Maithili Devidas Zuvekar, MMHSS who ranked first in Std XII Science gets Rs 3000 and citation. Anderson Lopes, MMHS and Mildred Rosenell Martins, students who ranked first in SMA get Rs 1000 each with citations. Austin Coutinho, Std XII MMHSS who ranked first in CRM was feted at the hands of Alemao with Rs 5000 and citations by well wishers from Dandeavaddo in the USA.
The award ceremony which was preponed has been instituted by friends, admirers and parishioners under PC TRUST and event of token awards this year was sponsored by admirers of Fr Da Costa for the indelible legacy he left at Oour Lady of Hope Parish at Chinchinim.The open ended fund has reached Rs2.71 lakhs. Churchill was all praise for the dynamism of Fr Costa, his efforts and achievements. Lopes, founder Chairman recounted the scheme and efforts to institute the award in honour of Fr Da Costa.The trust appreciated the presence of Alemao and thanked him for his generosity in founding soccer award for Chinchinim village schools. Janet crasto and Prof Maggie Lopes presented bouquets and a token to Fr Costa and Alemao.
