In an incident of human-animal relationship, Mugger crocodile eggs found in the forest were rescued by wildlife rescuers from the Margao Forest Department -- Benhail Antao and Julio Quadros -- under the guidance of Range Forest Officer Prakash Naik.
The information was passed on to the rescue squad by Sajan Naik from the Forest department. There were a dozen eggs that were safely transported and incubated. One egg was found to be infertile however, 11 baby crocodiles were born out of the remaining. These baby crocodiles were released back into the wild, stated Deputy Anil Shetgaonkar who heads the South Goa division of the Forest Department.
