MAPUSA: An informative e-book on Ewing’s Sarcoma, edited by Dr R.G. Wiseman Pinto, Professor of Pathology, Former Dean and HOD at Goa University, and President of the Asian Society of Cytopathology, was recently released.
The book provides an in-depth overview of Ewing’s Sarcoma, also known as Primitive Neuroectodermal Tumor (PNET), and the broader Ewing’s Sarcoma Family of Tumors. It covers affected bones and sites, gross and microscopic features, imaging, immunohistochemistry, molecular and genetic analysis, prognosis and treatment protocols.
It also includes a historical note on Dr James Stephen Ewing, who first described the tumour in 1920 in New York, USA.
