Slamming the sloppy implementation of Covid norms in the State, the Nationalist Congress Party on Monday said the government should stop super spreader events which could lead to spike in Covid cases and risking lives of Goans.
“The government should ban large gatherings and parties in nightclubs and hotels where people fail to adhere to the Covid guidelines. We have to take proactive steps so that the State does not slip into the second Covid wave,” said Sanjay Barde, General Secretary of NCP while addressing a news conference along with party members in Mapusa. Speaking further, Barde said the student community in the State could not attend classes for one year due to the pandemic and the government should ensure that this does not happen again. He said last year the students could not attend classes but that has not stopped the school managements from taking fees from the students. The NCP general secretary has also hit out at the government for holding a 13-day assembly when the Covid cases were rising in the State.
