When the entire country was celebrating the festival of lights, the forts and historical places remained in darkness. To light up these places of historical importance various organisations and individuals from across the nation have come together and formed Goa Shivjayant Utsav Samiti.
The members of this committee as well as the Shivpremi Sanghatana, Betul joined hands this year to celebrate the festival of lights at Betul fort, which has a history of 341 years and which was built by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
The members light up 341 earthen lamps to mark the 341 years of the fort’s existence.
The event was attended by a large number of people including Sajjan Juvekar, Sachin Kale, Vinod Salunkhe, Amol Kote, Sujan Kharade, Bhushan Juvekar, Sudhakar Joshi, Pradip Kerkar, Jayesh Kerkar, Saroj Mothe, Amit Khavnekar, Dilip Juvatkar, Mayur Jadhav, Rajendra Dighe, Pandurang Vare, Rohit Ghatge, Amit Sawant among others.
