Saisha Divkar, a student of Mapusa’s G S Amonkar Vidyamandir has bagged the first place at a national level art festival held at Bhuvaneshwar in Odisha. Her prize winning portrait is that of Mapusa’s popular deity Shri Bodgeshwar and his devotees. Saisha is being trained under the art teacher Ajay Kothavade. The competition saw the participation of students from all States and Union Territories in India. Good at drawing and painting Saisha has many awards to her credit on school, taluka and State level. She was chosen along with seven other students from G S Amonkar School to participate in the competition and she stood first. The school trust board president Raj Amonkar, school chairman Adv Sanjay Usgaonkar, principal Gayatri Shirshat, staff, parents have congratulated the student and her art teacher for this success.
