Ox rescued from trench at Old Goa
The ox which was rescued by the Old Goa fire personnel after it had fallen in a trench at Sao Pedro-Old Goa on Wednesday morning.

The Old Goa fire personnel rescued an ox which fell in a trench near St Peter Church, Sao Pedro “ Old Goa on Wednesday morning.

According to information available, the Old Goa fire station received a call at 7.45 am informing them that an ox had fallen in a roadside trench, which was apparently dug for underground electrical cabling.

A fire brigade comprising firefighters Mahesh Divkar, Paresh Gawas, Gautam Pednekar, Hanuman Malik, and driver operator Ramesh Viedikar under the leadership of duty officer Amit Rivonkar rushed to the site and began the rescue operation.

After two hours of operation, the firefighters were able to free the ox from the trench, much to the relief of the firemen and onlookers.

PERNEMThe body of 72-year-old man from Hasapur-Chandel who was missing since Sunday was recovered from a river on Wednesday morning.A team of firefighters pulled out the body of Tukaram Bhikaji Harijan from the river and handed it over to Pernem police for investigations.
