Secretary Health Amit Satija IAS flagged off Information Education and Communication (IEC) van at the function held at Azad Maidan, Panaji on Tuesday organized by Goa State AIDS Control Society (GSACS) to commemorate the World AIDS Day 2020.
The theme for this year is ‘Global Solidarity, Shared Responsibility’. This year’s theme comprises of an increasing list of challenges that World AIDS Day has alerted people globally.
Satija addressing the gathering lauded the work done by GSACS for taking the initiative for felicitating the Covid-19 warriors. He further said that the IEC van which was flagged off will go to every taluka, spreading the messages about the AIDS in the remote parts of the State.
The fight is quite long of about 40 years and will continue for a few more years to ensure that we eliminate the deadly virus from society. The kind of action the government and NGOs are taking no doubt will help to overcome the challenge of coronavirus as well, Satija remarked.
