Goa Artists Collective in collaboration with Goa Brewing Co has opened an art exhibition of Woodcut prints ‘Dialogues In Wood’ and a woodcut workshop at Sangolda recently in the presence of eminent personalities from the art world. The exhibition will remain open for public viewing till October 3. the exhibition of woodcut prints features artworks of 13 artists and five art students. The artists who have displayed their woodwork here are Anup Naik, Bhisaji Gadekar, Diptej Vernekar, Kalidas Mhamal, Leticia Alvares, Pradeep Naik, Priyanka Mishra, Rajendra Mardolkar, Shailesh Dabholkar, Shilpa Mayenkar, Shripad Gurav, Sidhesh Chari and Viraj Naik. There are also works of art students - Asavari Gurav, Ashita Matondkar, Kiran Tamboskar, Prasanna Kakatkar and Shubham Chari. “The workshop provided a space for emerging and established artists to come together and work alongside each other. The uncertainty brought about by the pandemic created ruptures in institutions that called for a new pedagogy and learning,” states Alice D'Souza, project coordinator, Goa Artists Collective. The woodcut prints from this exhibition uncover various layers of stories, myths, memories, metaphors, and motifs.
