PANAJIOn the backdrop of Hindus being targeted in Bangladesh Ravindra Ghosh, president and convenor, Bangladesh Minority Watch has appealed to all the nations across the globe, UN and India, to join hands in offering protection to the Hindus living in Bangladesh. Ghosh pointed out that the population of Hindus which was earlier 28% has now been reduced to only 6% which is alarming. Ghosh was addressing a special online session on 'Why is the government silent on the issue of atrocities being done on Hindus in Bangladesh' organised by Hindu Jan Jagruti Samiti. Prof Chandan Sarkar, president of Research and Empowerment Organisation in Bangladesh stated that in 2021 and 2022, the Hindus in Bangladesh are being targeted and by planned attacks on Hindu settlements, they are forced to leave the country. The agenda behind the harassment is to compel Hindus to leave Bangladesh and take refuge somewhere else. This has resulted in the continuous decrease in Hindu population in Bangladesh, which has been reduced from 28% to only 6%.
