Assumpta convent high school Sarzora, celebrated its opening ceremony of its golden jubilee with the invoking Of God's blessings upon the entire family of Assumpta convent high school, with a Eucharistic celebration with its main celebrant, Philip Neri Cardinal Ferrao along with other six other priests. The parish priest of Chinchinim Fr Alex, Parish priests of Sarzora Fr Oswald and the Assistant Parish priest Fr David, Fr Reginald and the three priests, the ex-students of the school Fr Lenoy, Fr Joulan and Fr Reagan attended the program. The provincial of Mhow province of FSMA sisters was the chief guest. The headmistress welcomed the gathering and also introduced the chief guest. The programme consisted of varied performances like prayer dance, mando, mime, konkani skit cultural and western dance etc. Velim MLA Cruz Silva, Chinchinim Sarpanch Valentino Barretto and Sarzora Sarpanch Leona Fernandes were present for the programme. Teachers Iona Almeida, Hazel Crasto and Sylvia Fernandes who have completed 25 years of service were felicitated. The services of the retired staff members too were acknowledged and appreciated and were gifted with a momento with a school picture and golden jubilee logo on it.
