OLD GOA: The Azossim-Mandur panchayat held an awareness rally on cleanliness in the village with the students of Government primary school participating in the same.
Armed with placards on the importance of keeping the village clean and green, the students gave slogans on cleanliness as they went around the village.
Later, speaking to reporters sarpanch Prashant Naik urged the people not to throw garbage along roadside but instead hand over the same to the garbage collectors.
“If we keep our village clean only then we will be successful in keeping the State and the country clean,” Naik opined.
A student, Pallak Chari, opined that everybody should maintain cleanliness and not throw garbage around, and also plant trees.
Teachers Pradnya Pednekar and Aarati, panchas Nandesh Mayekar, Premanad Kuttikar and Ashita Alfonso participated in the awareness rally.
