BITS Pilani marks International Yoga Day in virtual mode

In accordance with the directions of MHRD and Ministry of AYUSH, the International Yoga Day was observed at BITS Pilani Goa campus through digital platforms due to the pandemic. Keeping this year’s theme as yoga at home and yoga with the family, the program started by lighting the traditional lamp. Yoga Guru Dr Namdev Chopdekar was introduced by Dr Chandu Lamani, physical education officer. Stating that yoga is a way to maintain physical and mental health, Lamani pointed out that it helps achieve a balance between body and mind, so that professional work and thinking can be better. Chopdekar said that in today's mechanical life environment and pollution, yoga is a necessary condition for maintaining physical and mental health. He also explained the various benefits of yoga and organized group yoga classes for teachers, staff, and students. All yoga and pranayama asanas have received proper scientific instruction. In addition, all participants performed according to the instructions of the digital platform.
