The Department of Konkani of Chowgule College celebrated World Konkani Day on April 9 to commemorate the 76th death anniversary of the father of Konkani language- Shennoi Goembab in collaboration with “Chalo School Mega Drive”. The Department faculty including Dr Gunaji Dessai, Glynis Dias, Shivani Verenker and Cialini Fernandes organised a programme with several competitions for the students.The programme started with paying a floral tribute to Shennoi Goembab’s photo by the teachers of the Department and Student Representative- Yukta Parsekar. Dr Gunaji Sadanand Dessai, HOD of the Department addressed the students. After which the monthly newsletter of the department was inaugurated. The celebration ended with a vote of thanks by Assistant Professor Cialini Fernandes.
