MARGAO: Dicarpale SC prevailed over Verna Sports Club 5-3 via the tie-breaker to enter the semi-finals of the OL of Fatima Cup inter-village football tournament, at Dicarpale SC ground, on Saturday.
It was Ajay Raj who gave the lead to Dicarpale SC off a pass from Donald Rocha at the start of the second session. Later, Andrews John equalised for Verna Sports Club after he outwitted Dicarpale SC goalkeeper Francisco Colaco.
In the ensuing penalty shoot-out, William Niasso, Velington Rocha, Milton Colaco and Ajay Raj netted for Dicarpale SC while only Fulgancio Carvalho and Andrus John were on target for Verna SC.
Dicarpale SC goalkeeper Francisco Colaco was adjudged as man of the match and was awarded by Fr Joaquim Fernandes.
