PANAJI
Given the difficulties being faced by people across the state, the Women’s Cell of Don Bosco College in Panaji, took the initiative to reach out and offer assistance to those in need. A few college staff visited a girl’s orphanage at Siridao belonging to the Asha Sadan Social Centre, Vasco to distribute sanitizers and bathing soaps to help spread and foster a sense of staying safe. This initiative was taken up as part of a social outreach, a way of providing a helping hand to the needy during this second phase of the pandemic. The conversation with Sr Lourenca to find out the needs of Asha Sadan Centre was initiated by assistant professor Anaita D’costa, faculty in-charge of the women’s cell. Principal of Don Bosco College, Dr Cedric Silveira, and assistant professors Glenda Mascarenhas and Gilbert Mendes assisted in combining the efforts of students and staff making it possible for the college to render service.
